Georg Rehm
Senior Researcher at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI)

Georg works as a Senior Researcher at DFKI's Language Technology Lab, speaks regularly at international conferences, publishes research and connects the dots between AI and content. He is an expert in digital curation technologies, a film aficionado and passionate runner. He holds an M.A. in Computational Linguistics and Artificial Intelligence, Computational Linguistics, Linguistics and Computer Science from the University of Osnabrück and a PhD in Computational Linguistics from the University of Giessen.

Georg will speak about how artificial intelligence might be used in the film industry. 

 

 

Jannis Funk
Co-Founder of Cinuru Research

Jannis Funk is a co-founder of Cinuru Research, a Berlin based start-up building data-driven research and marketing tools for the film industry. In 2016/17, he has been a Fulbright Visiting Researcher at the University of Califonia, Los Angeles. He initiated and co-chaired the conference “Big Data, Big Movies” in Nov 2016 and pursues a PhD at the Film University Babelsberg focusing on “Algorithms and Producers”.

 

 

Marina Berger
Co-Founder of Cinuru Research

Martina is a co-founder of Cinuru Research, a Berlin based start-up building data-driven research and marketing tools for the film industry. Cinuru’s field of action is Data Science as a Service for cinema operators and distributors. Martina is a versatile networker with a wealth of experience in film production and marketing and holds a BA in Media and Communication Science and an MA in Film Production.

Jannis and Martina will speak about their experience in building a start-up in the film industry and how Big Data might drive change in distribution and experience of films.

 

 

Erwin M. Schmidt
Co-Founder of Propellor FilmTech Hub Berlin

Erwin has worked in production, international sales and for film festivals and was Wim Wenders’ 3D producer. He has an avid interest in new narrative formats and new distribution channels. In 2016 he co-founded the Propellor FilmTech Hub, together with the European Film Market of The Berlinale, the International Film Festival Rotterdam and the Copenhagen International Documentary Festival. Their aim is to propel the film industry into the future.

Erwin will present the „landscape of ideas" developed at the Propellor | Forum #1.
